This Blog

Among my fellow teachers at my school, I am regarded as a bit of a technology expert. During some grant work last year, the grant team I was part of was exposed to the idea of "digital natives" versus "digital immigrants". Today's students are digital natives; they were born and have grown up in this digital world. Teachers, mostly, are digital immigrants; they were born outside this digital world, and have moved into it. It is not the world in which they were raised, and it is unfamiliar to them. As someone who was raised during the early part of this technology age, I fall somewhere between these two characterizations, which means I have some level of comfort and understanding with technology that most teachers don't have. My goal in creating this blog is to share some of my knowledge and insight about technology, especially with those who would consider themselves "digital immigrants". I intend to use this blog to share my knowledge of technology, as well as interesting or innovative uses of technology in the classroom or elsewhere, that I have discovered or that I have heard about from others. I also welcome any requests for particular topics or ideas for me to discuss. Thanks for reading.
